Disney Parks Blog Celebrates Animal Moms and Babies for Mother’s Day
The Disney Parks Blog has released an adorable Mother’s Day tribute, showcasing the sweet new baby animals at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Dr. Mark Penning highlighted the recent savanna debut of Tucker, an endangered Masai giraffe calf, alongside three playful Asian small-clawed otter pups.
The post also featured Sohni, a critically endangered Sumatran tiger, and her delightful cub Bakso, whose playful bond is a guest favorite. Out on Kilimanjaro Safaris, mother giraffe Mara is lovingly teaching her new calf, Tucker.

Adding to the heartwarming news, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge celebrated the arrival of Ginny, a critically endangered addax calf born to Juniper, and Henry, calf to mother Violet. These births are vital for the critically endangered species.

The blog emphasized Disney’s conservation efforts through collaborations with the AZA and SSP. It concluded with a Mother’s Day message and encouraged readers to follow Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment on Facebook and Dr. Mark on Instagram for more updates on these precious animal families.
