Movie Review: Marvel’s Thunderbolts (2025)

Just Saw Thunderbolts – My Gut Reaction to Marvel’s Misfit Crew! This ain’t your usual superhero gig – think more like a support group for reformed (or maybe not-so-reformed?) baddies, all thanks to the ever-intriguing Valentina de Fontaine.

But honestly, it’s the banter and the weird little moments between these misfits that stick with you. There’s a dark humor that runs through it, often sparked by the clashing personalities and their totally different ways of doing things. Thunderbolts is a must see.

Here’s the breakdown.

Action: Solid 8/10. Definitely some well-choreographed sequences and impactful moments. It wasn’t non-stop explosions, which I appreciated – the action felt purposeful and tied to the story.
Humor: Quirky 9/10. The humor definitely lands, especially from the unexpected pairings and Yelena’s dry wit. It’s not laugh-out-loud every minute, but there are definitely some genuine chuckle moments.
The Dad: Underrated Potential/10 (Seriously, give this man more screen time!). He brings such a unique and charming energy.
Yelena: 10/10 (No bias… okay, maybe a little). She continues to absolutely nail this character. Every scene she’s in is elevated.

Thunderbolts comes to theaters on May 2, 2025. Get your tickets now!
